Maps and statistics of Coral Sea Islands
The Coral Sea Islands are a group of small islands and reefs in the Coral Sea, off the northeastern coast of Queensland, Australia. They cover an area of approximately 780,000 square kilometers but have only a few islets that are habitable. There is no permanent human population, except for a small meteorological staff on Willis Island. The islands are a territory of Australia and are primarily used for meteorology and wildlife conservation. The surrounding waters are rich in marine biodiversity.
